Chief Sergeant at Arms

 

 

The Executive Office consists of the Chief Sergeant at Arms and the Executive Secretary which is located on the third floor of the State Capitol Annex building, directly adjacent to the Assembly Chambers. The Executive office serves as the core liaison to the Assembly Membership, law enforcement offices, State and public agencies.

The Security Department, serves as the centralized base of operations for the Communications (Dispatch) Center, the Assistant Sergeants at Arms, the Session and Committee Scheduling Secretary and Propery Controller. In working together with the California Highway Patrol, Governor's Detail, other outside law enforcement agencies and the Senate Sergeant at Arms is another duty of the Security Department. The Security Department is located in the basement of the State Capitol.

Special Services Department Assembly Special Services serves as the Assembly’s information center. This office schedules members’ transportation to and from airports, coordinates phone messages for members and staff, and assures that all legislative errands are logged and completed as assigned. The Assembly membership relies on the services of this office seven days a week, including most evenings and holidays.
