Security Mission In the event of an emergency, or any ordered evacuation of the Capitol (fire, earthquake or bomb threat) the Security Division assists in the safe evacuation of all persons from the Capitol building. They are required to maintain a high professional standard of performance and conduct. They work closely with other law enforcement agencies, including the Fire Department, California Highway Patrol and the Senate Sergeant at Arms. All procedures and protocols are standardized to establish a common set of incident strategies needed to deal with all possible emergency situations. Two evacuation exercises are conducted in the Capitol building annually. |
